Enchanting Tepoztlán
Tepoztlán was an unexpectedly charming encounter. It was an outing scheduled on a Wednesday in the middle of the week. After a day of school, our group piled into our retro, vibrant yellow school bus, and ambled southeast, along mountain ridges looking down upon the valleys below us. About half an hour out of Cuernavaca, we arrives, the bus bouncing on the cobbled stones and squeezing along the narrow rows.
Villages are often just as much centers for cultural richness as their neighboring cities, though their wonders may be tucked with the shops and markets, like gems glistening with stories to tell.
Tepoztlán enough to not need a detailed itinerary. It welcomes a wanderer, but incase you would like some guidance, here are some delights I chanced upon.
El Mercado
We visited on a Wednesday afternoon , when the town square hosts a compact covered market. In addition to Wednesdays, the markets swings full throttle on the weekends!
Tepoznieves
A delightful respite from the warmth of the market, Tepoznieves has multiple little shops lined up along the streets. They have slew of options, many non-dairy and feature fruitful combinations. I made sure to douse my cone with the chili powders for delightful treat!
Wandering the streets and enjoying colorful murals
Meandering through the streets brings a variety of delights, from peaking into the corridors to enjoying the plentiful painted walls!
Tepoztlán, you stole my heart
Thanks so much for having me, until next time!
